Q: Who is Ohio Living?
A: Ohio Living is one of the largest and most experienced not-for-profit, multi-site senior living organizations. With 11 life plan communities (including independent living, assisted lived, skilled rehabilitation, memory care and long-term nursing), Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice, and Palliative Medicine, our total service area covers over 10 million Ohioans wherever they call home. Additional service lines include provider-owned physician and nurse practitioner services, a Medicare Advantage plan, and pharmacy services. Ohio Living Foundation raises several million dollars annually to support charity care, special programs, capital expansion and endowment.
Q: What makes Ohio Living unique?
A: At Ohio Living, our mission is to provide older adults with caring and quality services toward the enhancement of physical, mental and spiritual well-being consistent with the Christian Gospel. This mission is the heart of our organization. We consistently exceed the needs and expectations of those we serve, and are proud of our reputation for excellence. The essence of Ohio Living is its spirit, nurtured with more than 100 years of experience. When you choose to live at one of our 11 communities, you will find an atmosphere of integrity, supported with Christian beliefs.
Q: What is a life plan community?
A: Ohio Living communities are about much more than care: They are about living your life to the fullest. A life plan community allows planning and living to merge. Having a plan in place allows for living life to the fullest with unique safety net advantages offered through advanced healthcare services.
Q: What happens if my assets are depleted?
A: Since the first Ohio Living community was founded in 1922, the Life Care Commitment has been in place to give our residents peace of mind. The Life Care Commitment helps assure all Ohio Living residents that they will always have a home even if -- in good faith -- they run out of the funds meant to see them through.
Q: Who decides when a resident requires a higher level of care?
A: Our objective is to help you maintain your independence for as long as possible. To this end, our staff will meet regularly with you and your family to explore options, including My Independence, that will help meet your changing needs.
Q: Do residents have a voice in the operation of the communities?
A: Absolutely. Because we consider our communities to be resident-driven, we provide various ways for you to become involved in the community and provide feedback. Some of these options include joining the resident associations, taking resident satisfaction surveys and attending resident listening events. We encourage our residents to take an active role in our communities.
